What Can An MRI Detect To Treat Hearing Loss?

Question: i have hearing loss & have hearing aides they say there is nothing wrong with them , have had them adjusted 5/6 time from mid XXXXXXX & am going for mri on my head to see what might be wrong , want to know what they might be looking for
Brief Answer:
Possible disease along the conductive pathway from the ears to the brain!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
MRI in this context is mainly to look at the path that sounds travels from the ear to the brain.
Any affection along this line such as growth, calcifications, compression from neighbouring structures, infarcts from the poor blood supply, etc. can explain this.
In addition, an audiometry should be done to characterize what the exact nature of your hearing loss might be to further guide the evaluation and management.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
