What Can Be The Adverse Effects Of Cleaning Chemicals On Arm?

default
Posted on Mon, 25 Aug 2014
Question: I had a wart on my thumb that had fallen off 3 days ago, this morning I got EasyOff oven cleaner on my fingers and it ate the new layers of skin off of the wart hole. None of my fingers hurt and don't show any signs of burns, but my forearm has been tingling all day. How serious are the chemicals in this cleaner when exposed to a open sore and can they attack my nervous system?

Brief Answer:
Chemical does not reach to nervous system.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.

I can understand your concern for the application of the XXXXXXX cleaner over the warty area and subsequent tingling sensation.

Let me reassure you first that these solutions are not harmful for the nerves and nervous system and there fore are not at all damaging to any of the nerves and nervous system.

These solutions are basically locally active and never go beyond skin deep. So can cause irritation and burning with ulceration or redness over the area of application. Had it been really harmful then must have had damaged the site of application and caused all the problems as enumerated above.

In your case I can notice that thee is no burning or redness over the area of application so you need not to be worried at all.

The tingling sensation is a usual phenomenon which any of us can get after minor irritation. So just relax.

I hope these informations will relax your mind. I will be glad to answer any further queries.
