What Can Cause Severe Stomach Pain?

Question : My 12 year old son, XXXXXXX has been up most of the night complaining about his stomach hurting. Not an upset stomach, but rather stomach pain as if he were punched or injured. A few years ago he did get appendicitis but that was removed and all good with no complications. The pain started around 6PM yesterday and he was not acting like himself. Took a nap for an hour or two which was very unusual. Woke up and didn't want anything to eat. Got in my bed and only slept a little on and off. He's been up moaning a little (nothing terrible), but steady complaining his stomach still hurts.

Thoughts?
