I'm an extremely healthy 50 yo woman. I do hot yoga 3 times a week plus other home workout DVDs put out by Beachbody for 3 years straight. Now all of a sudden I've developed skipped heart beats VERY regularly. It's to the point where I can't quit thinking about it and am experiencing fatigue. My husband doesn't want me to exercise because he's worried about it. I finally went to the doctor and they ran blood work and put a 24 hour holter on me. When I have an episode (about 10 per day) I'll have one skipped beat every 3 beats. My blood work showed slight elevation of liver enzymes for over a year. Should I be concerned?
Thank you for having this site! XXXXXXX
Looking forward to have your blood tests' reports.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
I have gone through your medical history.
Menopause is a normal stage of woman's life. It is associated with various symptoms due to hormonal changes, especially when it comes to heart problems. They are the most common problems women are facing. Once the hormonal balance will be back to normal again, the symptoms will improve as well.
In your case, I advise to run stress test to totally exclude heart problems. If will result ok, then, can continue exercise as normal.
Controlling anxiety/stress, and conducting a healthy lifestyle and diet regimen can also help improving your cardiac symptoms.
With regards to slightly elevated liver enzymes, I'd ask to upload the full blood test reports to analyze them myself.
Thank you!
