Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns that you are having black tongue. I would like to ask you few more details.

Are you on some medications (antibiotics, oral mouth washes) ?
Is your black tongue associated with any burning sensation ?

Black tongue, is harmless, common in some, who are on antibiotics (outer layer of tongue destroyed with tongue papillae accumulates with bacteria and appears black).

Burning sensation is seen in black tongue with fungal infection.

Some Do's

Maintain good oral hygiene- brush twice daily, gargle with diluted hydrogen peroxide.
Stop excessive intake of tea or coffee.
Quit smoking.

Kindly follow the instructions.

In case of persistence or burning sensation, you need to see an ent surgeon, for the exact cause and treatment.
