What Causes DVT In Leg During Pregnancy?

Take precautions
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Prolonged immobilisation can lead to DVT, especially in a patient with the history of DVT.
However, it is not contraindicated for a patient of DVT to travel for 10 hours in flight if:
1. The medications for DVT are taken regularly.
2. The PT/INR (coagulation levels ) are within the therapeutic range for DVT.
3. One moves the legs repeatedly to improve the circulation in legs, so as to decrease the risk of stasis of blood and hence decrease the risk of DVT.
4. Proper consent is taken from the treating physician.
5. Fluid intake is good so as to avoid any dehydration.
If you fulfill all these conditions and take appropriate precautions, then you can travel for 10 hours in a flight without posing any risk to yourself.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
