Question : Hi doctor, I'm asking this for my brother. He feels cold and have running nose only in the early morning. After 1 hour he becomes normal . Till end of the day he feels normal. But again in the next day early morning(at 5. Am) hes having running nose for nearly 1 hour. Can u give a solution for this.

Brief Answer: Persistent rhinitics has varied causes Detailed Answer: Hi, Thank you for choosing Healthcaremagic. I hvae analyzed your brothers query, clinically this is known as "Persistent Rhinitis", there are varied causes for this. It could be due to some allergen like dust, pets, pollen ...etc commonly known as Allergic Rhinitis. Also overuse of nasal decongestant sprays produce Rhinitis medicamentosa or could be due to any nasal polyps or chronic pharyngitis... Your brother needs to consult an ENT specialist for clinical evaluation and confirming the diagnosis. They will check the throat, nose and find out if there is CONGESTION and also evaluate the SINUSES (which can cause sinusitis) depending on the problem treatment can be planned. Most of the times doctors prescribe Antihistaminics and antibiotics for treating infection.. Please ask if you have more questions.
