Question : I have a black dot which appears to be under right index finger nail. Best estimate, It has been there sometime between a few weeks to maybe a couple of months. There is no pain, i dont remember any trauma but it is possible since I work with heavy weight and often times catch a finger between them its possible.

Brief Answer:
Seems to be subungual haematoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your history and reviewed the attached photographs.
According to me it seems to be collection of blood pigment under the nail. It can be due to some trivial work related injury which got unnoticed.
I would still recommend you to keep an eye on it and if their is any increase in the size of the spot consult a dermatologist and get a work up done.

Dr Asmeet
