I have gone very carefully through the details provided. The swelling seems to be due to soft tissue injury and possibly some bleeding below the skin. You need not worry about that as in 7-10 days it would subside. But what concerns us is whether it is associated with some intracranial hemorrhage. However, if there is bleeding in and around the brain, it would not be without any symptoms. Look out for the following ominous signs of head injury.
* Torrential vomiting
* Severe head ache (some amount of head ache is to be considered normal)
* Altered consciousness and unconsciousness
* Seizures
If neither of these are present, you may relax. But in case these symptoms are present, you need to take her to a doctor without delay and get her investigated.
