What Causes A Bump On Left Side Of Pubic Area?

default
Posted on Fri, 12 Jun 2015
Question: I'm trying to determine whether a bump on the left side of my pubic mound is swollen lymph node or something more superficial. I've had it for a few months, it's very close to the surface, I would say less than a centimeter. I've read that superficial inguinal nodes are under camper's fascia. Around how far under the surface is that?

Brief Answer:
It doesn't look like a Lymph node.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
I saw your pics.
It doesn't look like Lymph node. Lymph node in Inguinal region area will be at least 1 inch below the skin.
As you are able to hold it,it is a Superficial subcutaneous swelling. It looks like a Sebaceous cyst, which is getting infected on and off.Redness is due to associated inflammation. I prefer to remove the swelling surgically and send it for histopathological examination ( Biopsy ). Exact diagnosis will be confirmed.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
