What Causes A Circle Of Slight Fogginess In The Vision?

default
Posted on Mon, 25 Apr 2016
Question: I am a 66 year old woman. I have only one eye, the other a prosthetic from a childhood accident. For about 10 days, I have had a circle of slight fogginess in my vision. It moves when I move my eyes. I am less aware of it when focused on distance but it seems front and center when I am reading. It does not obscure my vision, it's more like the sensation of having mucous in my eye.my acuity is normal. Also when moving my eyes, I see a slight rippling. At first I thought it was just a floater, but now I wonder if I should get an emergency appointment. My last one was about a year ago, and everything was normal, but I did have a very early stage cataract. Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Possible retinal tear

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

I am also concerned about your recent change in vision. You are describing a retinal tear. This is an emergent problem and I would recommend that you call your eye doctor immediately. You have only one eye and we don't want to compromise it. So please call them right now.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions
