default
Posted on Mon, 2 May 2016
Question: I have a cyst about 3/4 inch on the back of my left shoulder. Within the last month it has started to leas amsmelly light brown liquid. Last year my dermatologist was asking about excising it, but because of the post operative requirements I had to decline. I live alone & do not have anyone to depend on for assistance. most of my relatives have retired & moved south.

Brief Answer:
Should be removed

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.

If this is skin or subcutaneous cyst then it should be removed under local anesthesia and there is no specific postoperative requirement after this. You just need to shower the wound and remove stitches after 2 weeks. There is no need for anything else.

Wish you good health.
