Question : I have a lump around left and upper adam's apple. Sometimes it has a slight burning sensation. I get a lot of phlegm.

This lump can be an enlarged thyroid gland or enlarged lymph node. In both cases, ultrasound should be done.
You may have some swallowing difficulties and hoarseness. Cough can also appear.

I suggest you to consult your doctor and have this area ultrasound done. If you smoke, you should also consult laryngologist.
