What Causes A Feeling Of Lump In Throat?

Question: Hi, I have had this feeling of a lump in my throat for about two weeks now. It went away for a couple of days now it's back. It almost feels like I have phlem stuck in my throat. I constantly try and clear my throat which doesn't help. It tends to get worse as the day goes on. I've tried taking Ativan as I heard it could be due to stress, it didn't help. I also took over the counter nexium which didn't help. I did see my family doctor who insisted there is nothing wrong with me and dismissed my concerns. Is there anything I can do?

1. Laryngoscopic examination of throat.
2. Haemoglobin percentage and
3. Blood sugar level.
