What Causes A Fist Sized Bulge In The Lower Left Abdomen?

default
Posted on Fri, 4 Oct 2019
Question: I am in hopes the information I have previously completed you will be able to see. My husband has a fist size bulge protruding from the left side of his lower abdomen. It is sensitive, and sometimes painful. It causes problems for him to wear his trousers and boxer shorts. We have been to several doctors who seem to dismiss the issue, or shrug & send us to a specialist, who shrugs and sends us to another specialist.

possible hernia, needs further details.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I have read query for your husband.

* As per the description, it seems to be hernia or other soft tissue lesion.

Kindly provide me further details so that I can answer your query completely.

1. Lump visible always outside or goes inside and protrudes.
2. Associated discomfort in urination, bowel movements if any.
3. Any ultrasound report done by doctor till now for the lump.
4. If possible and no objection, a photo picture of the lump is most appreciated in
follow up conversation.

Awaiting for your response.

The majority of the bulge is on the outside. It appeared after we had been to several Dr’s regarding the band of pain around his lower abdomen. That was finally considered to be neuropathic. After he had seen a gastroenterologist, had an ultrasound and a CT scan. When that showed nothing he was sent to a surgeon who said there was no hernia. The neuropathic pain has subdued some since he has begun taking the meds I spoke of. But now this bulge has appeared on the left. So far there are no issues with urination or bowel function other than what is normal for him associated with his IBS. I am away from home tonight but will send a photograph when I return He has another appointment with his gastroenterologist tomorrow at 11:30. He is afraid he has cancer.

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the details.

* Pain can be neurogenic or else, but the lump must have definite reason underlying.
Cancer is out of threat here.

Will wait for the photo picture of the bulge.

Thanks take care.
