Question: I have been told by my md I have arthritis in my neck... In the last month, I have felt a hard bone bump at the base of my neck and experienced a lot of pain.... Is this truly arthritis or osteoporosis?

I am so sorry to hear about this pain. Osteoporosis is loss of bone mass. As such, feeling a hardened bone makes osteoporosis unlikely. Also, this may rather suggest a condition with bony outgrowths often referred to as osteophytosis. Ask your doctor if this is a possible cause of your symptoms.

Arthritis presents with swollen and painful articulations. They are usually warm to touch and hurt when mobilized. Let me know if this fits with your symptoms. Tylenol should be able to help with you pains. Hoe much do you take daily and how often is that done?
