Question : Hi. on the right side of my face I have a little red spot and under it a rock hard mass the size of a grape. but on the left side my face is swollen. why? no fever and no pain and feel great otherwise
Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
From the picture, the lesion on the right side looks like an infected hair follicle cyst.
If you have been sleeping on your left side continuously because of the lesion on the right side, a minor swelling of the left side of the face may occur. if the swelling persists for long after getting up, then it ought to be investigated.
Do get back to me if you have further queries.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
You would need an antibiotic for treatment of the infection and surgical intervention may be required if the lesion on the right doesn't settle with the antibiotic. It may be good to have yourself examined by a doctor.
If the swelling has been present for 2 days it would be better to have a CBC, urine analysis and serum creatinine done. You may try taking chymotrypsin which will reduce the swelling if it is due to an inflammation.
I would be interested to know your progress. Do let me know.

what would you think could be going on and would be shown by a CBC, urine analysis, etc.?

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The different reasons for the swelling can be
1. Infection
2. Allergic reaction
3. Less likely from a kidney problem
CBC would help in knowing whether it is due to any of the first two. An increased WBC count with increase in Neutrophils indicates an infection; an increase eosinophils would be suggestive of an allergic reaction. The less likely cause of a kidney problem would be evident from urine analysis and the kidney function test serum creatinine.
