What Causes A Light Green Colored Bowel Movement?

default
Posted on Wed, 8 Apr 2015
Question: I have noticed that my last bowel movement was a light green color. I have been eating alot of roasted peanuts in the shell lately and was wondering if maybe that might be the reason. Other than that my diet has not changed any.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Watch for progress of the problems.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood your concerns.
Light green color bowel movement is suggestive of 2 things. It may be either due to intestinal infection or that you has taken green leafy vegetables yesterday.

I would advise you the following:
Stop eating peanuts, as they not be suitable for you.
Drink plenty of fluids / water. Take normal food, curd, banana. Take Activated Charcoal tablets.
Get stool tested.
Watch for further bowel movements. If normal, nothing to worry as body too takes care of the infection. It is only when the load of infection is more that the body can not handle and you have to take an additional treatment.
If the stool shows infection, get an appropriate antibiotic cover under the guidance of the Doctor (the medicines for this is prescription based).

Please watch for the following symptoms:
Loose motions
Gases
bloating
nausea
Vomiting
Fever
Persistent green stools
Fever and any other symptoms like weakness.
Report to the Doctor.

I hope this answer helps you to get a proper diagnosis, and get a proper further treatment. Please feel free to ask for more or if you need further clarifications if you feel there is a gap of communication.

Thank You for your answers. I have had alot of gas the last 5 or 6 days and have had some bloating feelings and nausea once in the middle of the night. I drink alot of water and alot of sprite. I generally have been eating the peanuts before bedtime. ( about 1/2 lb of them every night. They are just so good and its hard to stop once I start eating them. I just thought maybe that was my problem or that some may have been rancid because there have been some peanuts that did not taste right.
Thank You again

Brief Answer:
Stop "Sprite" and peanuts and anything that cause similar problems.

Detailed Answer:

Thanks for your feedback.
You are absolutely right.

And to add to the problem you are drinking Sprite, which has far more sugar and adds to the problems.

Peanuts are hard to resist. Definitely some are going to be rancid, These are the ones that may cause the problems.

Please follow rest of the discussion as we already did.

Take care.
