Question : I have a lump on the left side near my temple. I noticed it yesterday because it hurt when I touched it. It's about the size of a dime. I thought it was a pimple but I can't see any redness. Do you have any ideas of what it may be?

By the description you give it seems you have a Sebaceous Cyst on the temple. That happens to be the commonest lump in that area.
Nothing usually needs to be done.
The only treatment however is Surgical removal.
Therefore please consult a Surgeon who can examine you and confirm the diagnosis and then proceed with the treatment as desired by you.
