What Causes A Lump Over The Injury On The Leg?

Question: My boyfriend injured his leg. Had a x-ray. Healing now, bruises changing colors, less painful. He has had a knot where the hardest impact was. We expected that to last the longest. Now starting 2 days ago there are new knots at the lump/knot site. Wondering what it could be?
Brief Answer:
It can be dissolving blood

Hello, I have studied your case. Initial gard knot that was formed was due to collection of blood near impact site. Now with time this knot is getting dissolved. It is normal phenomenon and sign of healing. You can follow these steps.
1.Take Brufen for pain relief.
2.Do hot water fomentation. Hot water helps in dissolving water very fast.
3.avoid prolong standing or walking. Compression bandages can be applied.
I hope this answers will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other follow up questions.

Why would three more smaller knots form on the initial knot more than a week after the injury? He is worried about blood clots.
Brief Answer:
This is due to blood dissolution
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Because blood is dissolving so a large knot is changing in to multiple small knots. It is not blood clots. There is nothing to be worried about this. Just continue hot water fomentation.
