Question: My 73 yr old brother had heart surgery in XXXXXXX in Fl. He drove up to see us in NC today. And has a bloody nose. Is there any problem that we should be aware of?

He is probably on blood thinners.
The strain of driving might have raised his blood pressures.
Together this may have caused bleeding.
Apply ice to the nose to stop bleeding.
Test up with Platelet count, PT/INR.
This will help us know if the medicines need to be stopped temporarily.
