What Causes A Painful Bump On The Forehead?

Question: A bump suddenly appeared on my forehead above my left eye... it appears to be throbbing with redness...the bump is about the size of a quarter

It appears as if I got bitten by something but sure I did not..

Should I seek immediate attention?

Thanks for sending your query to us.
This is more likely to be infection as there is pain and swelling.In case of allergy there is minimal pain.
You have to have antibiotics as well as anti inflammatory medication to control this.Along with this treatment,hot fomentation will also be helpful.

thank you... just prior to the swelling, I took 3 probiotic capsules and within minutes the lump appeared. The bump has since reduced in size.

Could the probiotics be the cause?
