Question : yes. I have an painful lump near the anal opening. I'm a 54 year old male. I'm afraid it could be cancer. Could the lump be anything else?
Brief Answer:
It could be an abscess or a thrombosed Hemorrhoid.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
A painful swelling near the anal opening is most likely an Abscess or a Thrombosed external hemorrhoid.
Without examining you it is very difficult for me to say.
I suggest you see a Surgeon who can examine you and then let you know what it is. Treatment can then be started accordingly.
Please get examined and then only can we move in the right direction.
Take care and feel free to ask any more queries on this issue.
