What Causes A Painless Red Bump On The Penis Shaft Post An Intercourse?

Question: Found red bump on penis shaft, what could this be? Herpes? Ingrown hair/pimple/bacterial infection?

The last time I had sex was five days ago, with my girlfriend. We had unprotected sex (she is on birth control) and she has never had signs of herpes. It was relatively rough and afterwards I noted a few minor cuts and abrasions in the area where the I found the red bump. I noticed the red bump maybe 2-3 days ago, the minor abrasions seem to be healing but the red bump remains.

It's painless (with only a very slight amount of pain under pressure), not irritating, and not filled with anything. The attached pictures show a little reflected light off the top from the flash but it is not a pustule/vesicle. It is not be fluid filled.

It does not seem to have gotten worse or improved since I noticed it a few days ago.

I have never had signs of herpes or any other STD before.

What could this bump be? Do you think it could be herpes and I don't know it? It's the only bump I've noticed and from my limited knowledge doesn't seem consistent with herpes but I don't know of any alternatives which it could be.

I plan to wait a few days than go get it checked in person but am stressing over what it could be.

Do you think this is a normal reaction to friction/ or an ingrown hair, or a sign of herpes?

Thanks

Brief Answer:
Not genital herpes. Use a topical antibacterial ointment for a few days

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thanak you for writing to us

I have read your question and I have also reviewed the Image.

Herpes genitalis usually presents with genital erosions/ ulcers which are painful Or have a burning sensation whereas this is a raised skin lesion and does'nt look like a lesion of genital herpes.
It looks red and a bit inflammed and also as you said, it is mildly painful on pressure. This could either be a bacterial folliculitis Or an ingrown hair. I suggest you to continue with an otc topical antibacterial i.e neosporin ointment, twice daily Or 2% mupiricin ointment, twice daily. These conditions should resolve in about a week, on application of topical antibiotic.
A second possibility is that, this could be a lesion of genital molluscum contagiosum, a viral infection, which presents with asymptomatic, dome shaped lesions and on close examination show a central indentation/ dent. Molluscum need to be either extracted Or cauterised.
