Question : Hello. I am a 28 year old female. I have had a small lump in my right armpit. It is about the size of a pea, firm, stationary, painless and underneath my skin. I have had it for approximately 1-2 months. Recently it has grown in size. I have not had any signs of infection during this time. No swollen lymph nodes, no fever etc.

Brief Answer:
Get a confirmed diagnosis for proper treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history you have so nicely provided.
From the description you have provided, this looks to be a sebaceous cyst if it is originating from the skin. You may see a punctum, a black spot with which it is attached to the skin.
(The lymph node is deep seated and skin moves easily and freely above it).

If this is a sebaceous cyst, it is better to get this excised in-toto to avoid further complications.

You may please get the diagnosis confirmed by consulting a General Surgeon and and get this removed. If this is a lymph node He shall get the other relevant investigations like mammography, ultrasonography, FNAC of the lymph node and further treatment as may be necessary.

I hope this answer helps you to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.
Please feel free to ask for more or if you need further clarifications or if you feel there is a gap of communication.
