Question : My brother who is 48 has had a cough for 2 years we have been to lung doctor and a ear nose throat and no one can find anything wrong but he coughs all the time that it hurts his chest and says about shortness of breathe any ideas

Get done CT thorax and PFT.

Hello,

Undiagnosed chronic cough can be due to Mediastinal Lymphadenopathy or bronchitis.
So,better to get done CT thorax and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
CT thorax is needed for mediastinal Lymphadenopathy.
PFT is must for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
Please let me know if these investigations are already done.
Also let me know if he is having any allergies.
