What Causes A Red Patch On The Head Of The Penis?

Question: I have a red patch near the head of my penis. It becomes closer to the skn color if not irritated (sex). I doesn't itch or burn. I have been married a long time, couldn't be a std. Should I get a dermatologist to review?
