Brief Answer:
Steroid flare

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

This red spot you say is called a steroid flare and is common after a steroid injection.
It is caused by crystals found in corticosteroid injections.

Please follow the advice and observe how you stay afterward:

* Take Advil or acetaminophen for pain and inflammation
* Use ice-compression at the injection site to reduce inflammation
* Monitor the injection site, if you notice ongoing bleeding, weeping, or pus coming from the site it could be infected and you should consult a doctor in person then.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
