Question : I just noticed beneath my upper lip and my nose a red spot about 1/2 inch long, oval, doesn't itch or anything, possibly the center is the very beginning of a blister but hard to tell-- so I goggled shingles. I've had a respiratory cold for a few days, am 60, a cancer survivor

Brief Answer:
Possibly viral in origin. Please upload images for confirmation

Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir

I can certainly understand your concern.

As per your description, this doesn't look like shingles , as rash if shingles is extremely painful.

Although this looks like a rash of Molluscum contagiosum, it's advisable to upload the images of the red spot for further evaluation and confirmation.

Once I receive the image, I will guide you appropriately.

Post your further questions if any.
Thank you.
