Question : What is this scab? I have only had anal sex once which was like 10 months ago, i got tested twice after that and turned out to have nothing but stuff like this worries me. I only get 1 or 2 at a time every once in a while and its only around the hairy parts of my buttcrack. But this one is closer to my scrotum. Could it be folloculitis? Why would it keep occuring if so? Im 22, Is it cause i have more hair growing down there or what ? Its a little itchy by the way.

Brief Answer:
Recurrent bacterial infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
Have gone through the pictures attached by you along with details and i appreciate your concern.

It looks like bacterial infection of the skin. Its not foliculitis neither is it a wart. Most common reason behind its recurrence is incomplete eradication of bacteria causing infection.

Please follow the treatment as suggested below for complete eradication of this infection.
Firstly take a swab sample of scab and send it to lab for culture and sensitivity. This test will help us to know which bacteria is involved in this infection

Start taking Cefixime 200mg twice daily for 10 days.(Broad spectrum antibiotic).
Take antihistaminic like Fexofenadine 180mg once daily.(for itch) for 3 days
(Chymotrypsin and Trypsin) containing tablet twice daily(promote healing. for 5 days
Use ointment mupirocin locally on the scab.

Antibiotic is the main stay of treatment.Continue antibiotics till the scab dries away and sheds completely.

Hope i answered your query well.

Brief Answer:
Follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
Refrain from having sex for 5 to 7 days.If you take medications then this scab will shed away in 5 to 7 days.As most likely its caused by bacterial infection hence partner can also get it from you. Thus though sex is not contraindicated yet for her safety try to avoid it for few days.
Regards.
