Question : Yes, please. I am 73 yrs old good health. My tongue feels like it is burned and is coated a brownish color. Very uncomfortable. Thanks

I read your question and i understand your concern. Feeling of burnt tongue with brownish color is at age of 73 is likely a dry mouth symptom. Medications adverse effects, dehydration, poor oral hygiene and last but not the least gastric discomfort like acid reflux issues altogether could be causing the symptom.
Drinking more fluids at least 3 litres a day, salt water gargles, garlic water mouth rinses, talking to an oral hygienist and let them sort out the possible cause and take a detailed history and manage accordingly.
