What Causes A Small Hard Lump On Penis While Masturbating?

Question: when i masterbate i notice a small hard lump on my penis, i can not feel this at any other time on my penis when its erect or soft just while im masterbating, do you know what this is?

hello dr,

i noticed it about a month ago, its small about 1/8 the size of a pea on the top of my penis just under the head, no pain or discharge, its underlying the skin, no history of unprotected sex, i do masturbate a fair bit could this have something to with it?

Thanks for information. Sorry for delayed response.

In photos I cannot find anything abnormal. It is likely vein of penis. During erection due to blood congestion it looks like lump. When penis is in flaccid state, blood reduces and lump goes away.

Masturbation does not cause any harm to penis in general except it is done vigorously in prone position.

For more clarification I request to send pic with erect penis and mark the lump if you can do it with photoshop.

Also let me know how do you masturbate? With hand or in prone position.

Thanks for clear photograph. From visual examination it seems completely normal. It is on skin of penis and even not differently visible from surrounding skin. It is related to skin only , nothing else.

From history and photos I can conclude that nothing to worry. If pain, increase in size or any discharge is there , you should consult doctor for examination.

You are doing masturbation with hand that is absolutely fine.
