What Causes A Small Mass Near The Navel Along With Bloating?

default
Posted on Mon, 23 May 2016
Question: Hi Doctor, I have a small mass about 2 inches above my naval. I recently had a CT scan but it didn't show anything. A few days ago I had severe pain in my stomach followed by a gut wrenching vomit that lasted about a half hour. During all of this, I had endless diarrehia which last 2 days. I feel bloated all the time but more so after I eat. My father died of pancreatic cancer and it was just awful. What do you think?

Brief Answer:
Possible hernia

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
The symptoms of the query are quite suggestive of a possible inguinal hernia.
It's better to meet a surgeon and get it excised or repaired since complications can be severe.
Unfortunately, there is no medical treatment for it.
I don't think at this stage that it is a malignancy specially since your ct is normal.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
