What Causes A Squishy Bump On The Inside Of The Buttocks?

default
Posted on Tue, 5 Sep 2023
Question: I have a squishy bump on the inside of my butt cheek. It’s about the size of a dime and it will sometimes reduce in size and not hurt but lately it has hurt. It’s been there for a few months! I went on a 18 hour road trip and after sitting for the long hours I noticed it. I usually treat naturally for any health issues I have so I’m not sure if I should go to the doctor or what type of doctor.

Brief Answer:
Appears to be folliculitis, antibiotic ointment and steroid cream

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Skin conditions are difficult to diagnose without examination. But based on the information provided by you, it appears to be folliculitis, (infection of the hair follicle).

Is it tender to touch? Is there any redness around?

It would be better if you can upload the pictures.

I would suggest you keep the area clean and dry, you can use a mild soap like derma dew or dove.

I would have suggested you apply antibiotic ointment and mild steroid cream for 3 to 4 days. It should subside within this period. In case if it doesn't subside or in case of progression, I would suggest you to get it examined by a dermatologist for an exact diagnosis.

Hope this helps and have a speedy recovery.
