Brief Answer:
need further clinical evaluation..

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX Welcome back to HCM..

I've gone through your query and understand your concern..

Now from your description there can be several possibilities , not necessarily of cardiac origin at all , i.e. some muscle entrapments/tendon jerks(which can be felt like a heart-beat all of a sudden), some conducted beats from some arteries of that region..

Now even though you've mentioned that you're a healthy male , but still at this age(62 yrs) symptoms like this shouldn't be left un-evaluated..

So to arrive to conclusion, you need to check in to your nearest Cardiologist, and get clinically evaluated for those findings (there may be a need for undergoing 2D-Echocardiography as well as color Doppler study if the cardiologist feels like ..)

Hope this will clarify your doubt..

Take Care
Kind Regards
