Question : My left eye just started flashing a bright arc-shaped light on the left side of my eye when I rotate my eye from left to right. What could be causing this? Is it something that needs immediate attention?

Hello Madam,

I can certainly understand your concern and have worked through your attached query in detail.

This symptom is called Flashing of light or Photopsia

These symptoms may reflect a retinal detachment.

Hence it's advisable to get it screened at earliest via fundoscopic eye examination.

Likewise, it's also important to rule out hypertension or Glaucoma eye conditions

Further management if any is largely based on these test results.
