Question : I have had previously been told that I have ulcerative colitis, but my last colonoscopy was 'clear'. I have lately had a very irritable bowel, and a swollen stomach, I normally have a flat abdomen, but for the last month or so it has increased to the point that I look almost as if I were 5-6 months pregnant. I have been trying some supper probiotics, thinking this might help, it's been about 6days since I have increased the amount and strains.
My abdomen is tender in places, hurts most after I eat.

Brief Answer:
You should be investigated.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, there is abdominal distension. The cause of it has to be known. There may be fluid in the abdomen.Ultrasound abdomen will give a clue.
Pain after eating can be due to acid peptic disease.
Upper GI endoscopy will confirm the disease.
Till investigations,I prescribe proton pump inhibitor like Rabeprazole 20mg before food,Pre and probiotic capsule twice daily and antispasmodic tablet containing Dicyclomine to my patients with similar complaints .
Please consult a Gastroenterologist and proceed further.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards
