What Causes Abdominal Pain And Occasional Vomiting?

default
Posted on Mon, 9 Jan 2017
Question: my wife is from Thailand and there is a slight language barrier especially in medical terms. She has been complaining about her stomach the past week. She keeps telling me that it feels like her tummy is tightening and moving up and down . She keeps rubbing her belly and saying that it feels like its moving up and down. Not painful or crampy. A few days ago she said that she feels like throwing up but didnt. However its fairly common that she throws up for no good reason maybe like every 60 days or so.

Brief Answer:
Severe gastritis might be the reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I can understand your concern for your wife's health.
1) Basically your wife has symptoms of abdominal pain and occasional vomiting.
2) What about her appetite, bowel habit, relation of symptoms with food intake?
3) According to history you provided, it might be due to gastritis which is inflammation (redness + swelling) of inner layer of stomach.
4) Gastritis may be due to irritation or allergy from food or due to H.Pylori infection.
5) She need upper GI endoscopy with RUT test which not only confirm gastritis but also confirms H.Pylori infection.
6) Treatment includes, medication for acidity, intestinal digestive enzyme supplementation medication indigestion as severe acidity in gastritis affect digestion process, antibiotics for H.Pylori infection if confirmed.

Hope I answered your question. If you have any further query, I would be happy to help you.
