Question: I recently started taking Dyazide. That's within the last couple weeks. I am currently experiencing severe abdominal pain it started several weeks ago as a very slight but has increased substantially in the last few days. Right now my pain level is 6 to 7 considering going to the ER . Could this be because of the Dyazide

Brief Answer:
Yes, Dyazide may give abdominal pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

These are some of the Gastrointestinal side effects of Dyazide: jaundice and/or liver enzyme abnormalities, pancreatitis, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain.

So yes, Dyazide may give the pain you have, but the problem may be any of the above. I will also recommend going to the ER so they can see what is going on.

How has your bowel movement been?
What about your urine color and frequency?
How is your general condition?
How is your skin color?

Kindly let me know more information and I will be happy to advice.
If you want, feel free to follow up with me while at the ER so I can help you with anything you need too.

Looking forward to your follow up question.

Regards,
Dr. Papaqako.
