Question : Hi Doctor, I am writing from XXXXXXX 4 weeks back I had protected sex with an escort. After that encounter I am totally horrified about my chances of hiv exposure. The reason of this worry is that when I am removed my condom I realised there were abrasions on skin of my penis. This made my worry to compound. After two weeks I had running nose. So is this something to worry about?

                                    Brief Answer:
Relax not due to std.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
if you had protected intercourse then you are almost protected from STDs.
If there is no contact of the fluids or secretions of Vagina to penis then there is no possibility of STDs including HIV.
You can allay fears of HIV.
Running nose like symptoms are not specific. They can be due to simple upper respiratory infection.so allay fears of HIV.
You can get back to me for any clarifications.
Thank you
Dr Bharatesh

It has been 4 weeks since the incidence. I do understand that HIV transmission occurs through the above mentioned fluids. While removing the condom it had touched the outer part of the condom and then washed my penis using my hands, hence I had this worry.
I wanted to get tested to rest my fears, but I read that one must wait for three months to get tested. Can I get tested now or do I need to wait for 3 months completion?
