Brief Answer:
due to oesphagitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HealthcareMagic .

Normally all have a sphincter at junction of oesophagus and stomach. Your problem is due to oesphagitis . Whenever you take tea coffee or spicy items it causes sphincter relaxation and leads to symptoms like discomfort and burning. These increase stomach acidity.

Yes you are taking proper treatment. Proton pump inhibitors(PPI) are the drugs used. But for complete relief you need to stop taking tea and coffee and spicy items. Your body is not tolerating these items. You should not eat heavy meals. And shouldn't sleep immediately after having food.

Increase intake of curds and avoid taking cold drinks or carbonated drinks and alcohol, smoking.

If you are over weight then reduce weight. This problem takes longer time to heal. Stress again worsen the condition as it increase stomach acid production. Reduce stress as much as possible as it may produce ulcer also.

I would suggest you to take PPI till your pain reduce with diet modifications and once pain subscide continue diet modifications.

Hope I have answered your query . If any further queries are there I would love to help.

Brief Answer:
it is reflux oesphagitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

These milk products may be causing lactose intolerance in you leading to increased acid production and sphincter relaxation. If sphincter relax inbetween abnormally then acid from stomach comes to oesophagus and cause erosion.

Yes I have seen your endoscopy report and pictures. It is curable but takes time to heal. Needs complete course of drugs and diet control. Curds is beneficial to neutralise the acid so I suggest to take regularly unless you have problem with it like you don't like etc.

Now there is no ulcer . Just inflammation is there. Type is reflux oesphagitis. Means due to abnormal acid entering oesophagus there will be erosion .

If treatment not taken and diet is not controlled then frequent attacks of pain and discomfort happens and ulcer may be formed and of left like that it may develop into cancer. Some risk is there not 100%.

Hope I have answered your query . If any further queries are there I would love to help.

Brief Answer:
acid should mix with food and go down

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Yes normally stomach acid should mix with food and go down not reflux back into oesophagus.

Usually the treatment is 1month acid reducing drugs with adequate diet control. Many people respond well to it. In your case the cause of not getting cured may be that you are not doing diet control. Diet control is more important then drugs .

Usually after 6months of drug therapy with diet control if there is no reduction in symptoms then surgery is advised. Surgery also don't have 100% results. Have there own side effects.

I suggest you to do following things
-take acid reducing drugs for 1 month after consulting your doctor.
-do proper diet control
-don't sleep immediately after eating,
-don't eat heavy meal. Walk for some time after meals.
-don't sleep flat on bed make head elevation of approximately 45 degree.

If with above treatment your symptoms reduce then consult your doctor and continue till symptoms completely subscide. Once symptoms completely subscide stop drugs but continue other life style changes. If no improvement at all in symptoms then you may discuss regarding
Surgery.

Before surgery 24hrs pH study is done.

Hope I have answered your query . If any further queries are there I would love to help.
