Question : Hi I woke up at 2 am last night with an unusual pain running from the bottom of my head into my core (is the only way I can describe it). Felt like pain was going all the way down the back of my throat. It was painful to lie on either side so did not get any sleep for rest of the night. I took 2 ibuprofen but that didn't seem to help. I spoke to pharmacist today who said it was probably acid reflux. I took a Zantac ant acid but that hasn't helped either. I still have the same sympthoms today 15 hrs later. My personal view is I drank too much wine last night ( yes I know ! ) and fell asleep in a bad position doing some internal muscle damage. The pain is there when I breathe deeply and also if I raise my hands above my head and move them outwards. The pain feels centred at some point behind my throat - which feels strange. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Alex

Brief Answer:
Possible musculoskeletal issues

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir

I can certainly understand your concern.

I have worked through your query in detail.

You possibly seem to have a musculoskeletal issues pertaining to the abnormal posture.

It's advisable to get an MRI scan of the total spine to evaluate further.

Acid reflux can cause symptoms limited to chest and upper abdomen.

Further management if any is largely based on scan results.

Post your further queries if any.
