Brief Answer:
Please get this checked out.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Female/46 - seen the photo - 1'' X 1/4'' - like a cyst - by inner thigh - wants to know whether to get this checked ...
Cyst can not be long like the one you have.
The abscess can get into such a shape particularly in the inguinal and thigh area.
I would advise you to get this checked as a proper clinical diagnosis and few investigated if required can be done - like Ultrasound and blood tests; leading to proper management.
Please do not try to pop at home.
You may also require a proper antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medications.
You may apply Liquid Povidone Iodine locally to keep the area sterile.

I hope this answers your query, Please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
