Question : I had a abscess at the top of my thigh in the groin area. It finally drained but there is now an area of whitish flesh the size of a nickel. It was very sore and the discharge smelled bad.

After reading your post, I would like to advise that you should get yourself clinically examined and investigated.

Following investigations may be helpful :-
1. Complete Blood Count ( CBC ).
2. Blood sugar levels.
3. Culture and Sensitivity of pus discharge.

You should take antibiotic according to the reports of the culture/sensitivity of pus.

Maintain local hygiene.
Also get your wound dressed under strict aseptic condition by a medical professional.
