Brief Answer:
Elevated heart rate

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

You have noticed a recent increase in your blood pressure and heart rate. This is concerning and one that should not ignore. I think you should see your medical provider as soon as possible. What I am concerned about is the elevated heart rate. you may have atrial fibrillation or other heart rate irregularity that needs to be addressed. You will need an EKG to see what is going on with your heart. Once that has been addressed the blood pressure issue will fall into place. The elevated heart rate and blood pressure are inter connected. Once you discover the cause of your heart rate irregularity your blood pressure should normalize. So please see your medical provider today is possible.

I went to get that checked - they brought down the bp to 139/88/61 in less that 15 minutes with a beta channel blocker....they observed me for several hours and sent me home....told me that I would be very tired the next day from all this. . .yesterday I was back to normal signs ; e,g, 123/68/59 thereabouts...but exhausted.. today the measures are good (119/92/71, to 129/74/63) still but I do not feel 'right' ...tired, periodically a bit hazy in the head, etc...is this normal? I am generally a person who has lots of energy.

Brief Answer:
beta blockers

Detailed Answer:
Yes the feeling of tireness and lethargy are very normal with a beta blocker. A beta blocker is actually an anti adrenalin drug so if you have been always running high adrenalin then your energy will be decrease because of the reduction in adrenalin. Over time you should get used to that feeling. I do recommend that you continue your medication as directed by your doctor.
