Question : My husband has an IVC filter and woke yesterday with extreme pain in his right arm, hand and foot. He also has gout, but he hasn't had it flare in years since starting tart cherry. I gave him a uratic acid cleanse pill yesterday and that used to help overnight, but has had no effect on pain. Right hand is also swollen.

We'll go to Dr tomorrow, but am worried I need to take him to hospital today. I hope to hear back soon.

1. Any change in temperature of right hand and arm if any.
2. Pain in foot - intensity , type , frequency.
3. Is there swelling in foot if any.
4. Urination normal or altered.
5. If possible, provide a photo picture of the hand showing swelling.

Till that time, an intake of tab.Paracetamol after meals will give relief.
