Question: Hi Doctor,
My husband has a rash on his back (picture attached) off and on for the last 2 years now. It started with a very small rash and we thought it was just a minor ring worm, so we applied Ring guard. But the rash kept getting bigger and bigger. Extreme itch. forced to keep scratching..the same rash on the groin and bottom as well. Please help

Brief Answer:
Antifungal medication required

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
It is definitely ring worm but itch guard or garlic won't be helpful.
I treat such cases with a topical antifungal cream like clotrimazole to be applied twice daily for a month and capsule itraconazole 200 mg twice daily for 15 days.
This combination works well and is safe as well as effective.
Let him try this and let me know the results.
Feel free to ask any other doubts.
Thank you.
