What Causes An Odor From Res Med CPAP Machine?

Question: I have had my Res Med CPAP for two weeks. I was told I was given the "machine for women." It is new, but I have a problem with a scent that seems to be from the machine. Is that supposed to be there. I can smell it at first when I am putting on the "pillow" mask, and when I take it off. The scent seems to cling to me. Am I in need of psychological help?

Brief Answer: try to acquaint with the odour Detailed Answer: Thanks for your query. Please check if this odour is from the strapping mask or other parts. I think it might be from the mask. Usually they are made up of silicon material and are odourless. If you aren't able to adjust yourself with that odour, you may try replacing the mask. Psychological help will definitely do. Can try some easy to go smell of herbal material like keeping some flowers etc... Best wishes
