Question : Yes my husband has had a double anyerism surgery 2012 nov. and also a right kidney removed that had clear cell renal cancer - its all gone we were told. He now had mono in March and now epstein barr virus we were told. He lost 60 lbs since march. He has no appetite, fatigue nausea sharp abdomen pain, low back pain, shortness of breath swollen ankles and an itchy rash under breasts around neck and on legs. He takes nitrates for his heart when needed, clopidegrel, motorprolol tarta for hbp and vitamins b12 and c and a daily vitamin. He was wondering if their may be anything else going on? He urinates frequently at night and gets one to two hours sleep per evening
He is also on simvastin.
He is also on simvastin.
Brief Answer:
Need to be investigated for recurrance
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Loss of appetite and weight can indicate recurrence of the renal ca or could be due to the Mono alone.
I would consider it safe for your to get a Ultrasound abdomen scan done and erythropoetin levels checked to rule out the renal ca.
If it is due to Mono he will recover in few weeks after the infection is cured.
