Question : My mother is visiting today. She complained this afternoon about her back muscle hurting under her right shoulder blade. During dinner she began to have heavy moderate pain in between her breasts and under her right breast. She feels like she ate too much. Of course I am concerned. Can you advise?

I read your query and understood your concerns.

What she is experiencing is more likely related to gallbladder/pancreas issues.

If she was my patient I would recommend to avoid eating fatty foods and to use prilosec and advil to relieve pain.

If these measers doesn't help than you should send her to ER.

Thank you very much Dr. She has been monitored for a cyst in her pancreas. Could this be related or just a coincidence? I will give her advil tonight and get prilosec tomorrow. Thank you.
